Hook's blue cheeses are the most incredible blues I've ever tasted. Creamy, smooth, perfectly salted but not grainy. Amazing. Since leaving Wisconsin I've gone to ridiculous lengths to get a hold of their goods. I even tried posting on craigslist to see if anyone was driving from Wisconsin to Portland. Oh Hooks, I love you so much...

[...] Gorgonzola has rapidly become one of our favorite cheeses. We cook with it, we eat it after dinner as a cheese course with wine or port, and we always have it on hand. Much of the reason for this is because we are fortunate enough to live close to one of the top Gorgonzola producers, Hook’s Cheese, in Mineral Point, WI. Read more about them here!
I just got one of these things myself. Unfortunately, although the spot I selected appeared to be flat, it's not. The darned thing is off balance and I'm stumped as to how to fix this 80 lb thing now! Oh well. I'll figure something and yes - the tomatoes will be grand!

I have heard the same thing! I have also heard that disease is lessened due to increased air circulation around the leaves and fruit.

I think that there are going to be some envious people in August!
;-)

Thanks for your comment! I'll take pictures along the way and post them.
